Below are the questions we’ve received and answered so far. Something missing? Let us know!
What is CoWork Jax, in 50 words or less?
CoWork Jax is a coworking space and community where professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers and others establish their primary or secondary office while collaborating, conspiring and growing their business in a community-focused environment.
What, exactly, is this “Coworking” you speak of?
Here’s the lowdown – Coworking is a style of work which involves a shared working environment, sometimes an office, yet independent activity. It’s really the gathering of people, who work independently, but who collaborate with others in the same space. [Wikipedia.org]
How do I know if coworking is for me?
If you don’t work in a traditional office environment, work primarily out of your home or move from café to coffee shop, then we think coworking might be perfect for you! Still not sure? Check out this Mashable article on 5 Signs that Coworking Might be for You.
The best way to find out is to just drop by and try it for yourself.
Sounds great – what’s it going to cost me?
We’ve worked hard to make sure we offer options for every need and budget. Basic memberships start at $25. Daily passes are also available for $25 ($15 for members). Coworker memberships give you unlimited use of the space. Dedicated desks and innovation suites are also available for those looking to have a more permanent presence. Check out our Plans & Pricing page for the pricing and details for each plan.
Where are you located?
We are located in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville at 5 West Forsyth Street. Here’s a little Google map that may help. If you are having trouble finding the location, just give us a call 904.586.8678.
So you have wifi, right?
You better believe it. It’s super speedy, secure and yours to use! Our Innovation Suites have hard-wired internet as well.
What else is provided in the space?
Among other things, we have conference rooms, HD Video Conferencing, a full service copy/fax/scanner, some basic office supplies, plenty of collaboration areas and a small library for information and inspiration. We have all sorts of goodies – click here to check out our space.
What are your hours?
What is the phone usage policy?
CoWork Jax operates on mutual respect (think volume here). Need to have a private call? Just drop into our private phone room & talk away.
Where do I park?
There are meters on Forsyth Street (bring quarters!) as well as credit card meters on Laura Street. Metered parking is free after 6pm and on weekends. There are also a number of hourly, daily and monthly parking garages and surface lots. Most visitors park in the following lots:
- Adams and Main (next to Burrito Gallery) – $3/day cash
- Forsyth across from Florida Theatre – $5/day credit card
- Monroe between Laura and Main – credit card
There are several options for monthly parking. Check out our page of parking options for more information.
What are the “policies” I have to follow?
You know it, our legal beagles said we have to create a behavior policy for the space. Bottom line, no illegal going-ons, no pr0n and please, just be ethical. Here’s the full down and dirty behavior policy.
How do I purchase day passes?
You can purchase day passes as you need them from the front desk. This includes any time you want to bring friends into the space. Just stop by the front desk and we’ll hook you up.
How do I purchase meeting room hours?
You’ll get instructions on how to schedule the meeting room on your first day at the space. You can purchase meeting room hours, either at the time you schedule the room or in hourly chunks which you can keep on account. The choice is yours. In the near future, we’ll be automating this whole system so you can do it online…but for today, the answer for most questions is “front desk”.
What if I need to cancel or change my membership plan?
You can cancel any time by calling us, visiting the front desk or going to http://coworkjax.recurly.com. If you need to change membership plans, you’ll have to cancel this one (see above note) and sign up for a new one. Yeah, it’s not convenient. We’re working on it.
