“Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is … Oh! H to the O V.” I’m going to apologize in advance for my corny jokes and sarcasm in and around the CoWork office.
As you may already know, my name is Georgia Compton and I am the new intern here at CoWork Jax. I grew up in the quiet, little town of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Being south Florida native, I naturally developed a love for the ocean. So in my free time, you can usually find me in the water or spending time outdoors. I also like to attend concerts, ride my bike, read, cook, and practice yoga, at my favorite yoga studio, in Jacksonville Beach. I have been doing yoga for over ten years and in the future, I hope to obtain my yoga teacher certification so I can share my practice with others.
I moved to Jacksonville four years ago to attend the University of North Florida. I am now a senior, majoring in communications and public relations. I am happy to say that this is my final semester attending UNF and am looking to gain as much experience as I can before I graduate in December.
I discovered CoWork about a year ago, and was immediately drawn to the coworking community. With a little research, I learned that CoWork is a new type of workplace that fosters growth and learning, and provides the resources to help grow businesses. I was fascinated by the main concept: collaboration. I began to fall madly in love with the concept of creating a workplace that encourages intelligent, professionals and entrepreneurs to build and grow their businesses together all in one place. I gained a hunger to become involved, which ultimately lead to me pursue an internship at CoWork.
My goal these next few months is to learn as much as I can at CoWork. I hope to learn what it takes to work as a community and help small businesses grow. To say the least, I am very excited to be involved in CoWork Jax. I look forward to getting to know all the members at CoWork and working alongside all of you!
